Overview

Resident activities are designed to give the elderly opportunities in recreation, education and social interaction. Numerous social service, educational, and religious groups volunteer on a regular basis. 

Regularly Scheduled Activities

The patio and garden area is a big favorite for all the residents.  They sit in the garden and reflect on gardening skills they used years ago in the South.  All of the residents enjoy the harvest season, particularly sharing produce from the garden they maintained with the members of the community.

Another big favorite for the residents is our annual Family Day event.  This day is full of fellowship, family, food, and loads of fun.  On that day, residents, their families, and members of the community, gather at Family House to hear inspiring choral groups, and enjoy great barbeque. Several times throughout the year, the young people involved in programming at Family House volunteer their time and talents and spend time with the residents.  These activities include conversing, reading, and performances by the youth.
