Food For
Thought
With the support of the
Assurant Health Foundation, Family House began hosting free
family dinners to our surrounding community. During the
dinners, guest speakers are
invited to lead discussions on a variety of health topics
and other important issues. The dinners are held on the
2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month.
Men with
Vision Men with Vision is a program geared
towards the young, minority males in the community. The program
carefully evaluates the young men's social and academic levels and
pairs them with a compatible male mentor.
Youth Summer Camp Thanks to the
generosity of VCY Trail Ridge camp, Family House takes part in a
camping trip for 40 youth. Trail Ridge is a 375 acre facility
near Hillsboro, Wisconsin in a beautiful area of the
state. |
After School
Tutoring
The after school program
provides school age children with activities and support in a
supervised environment. We offer tutoring and homework
assistance.
Food and Clothing
Pantry
Once a week and on an
emergency basis, families in need can come to our facility and
receive much needed food and clothing.
Teen Talk Topics
Teen Talk is primarily an abstiance program, but the program
does not stop there. The young women are offered presentations
on a variety of topics and field trips that coincide with the
topics. |
Asthma
Education
The Parent
Neighborhood Organizing Committee (PNO) and Family House is part of
an asthma coalition in Milwaukee. This coalition is known as
FAM (Fight Asthma Milwaukee). FAM and Family House are
working to reduce the visits and the overall poor asthma managment
of this community.
